Governor Simon Lalong of APC has won the appeal lodged by Senator Gyang Nyam Shom Pwajok of PDP, with regards the 2015 Gubernatorial election in Plateau.

In a landmark ruling this morning 26th Octoreber, by the three-man tribunal headed by Justice Johnson Candide, which began sitting in May 2015 -ruled that the votes of 564,913 scored by Barrister Simon Lalong of the APC were valid against 520,627 scored by GNS Pwajok of the PDP.

This is happening at the backdrop of the squashing of the Rivers state Gubernatorial elections,where Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike’s election was squashed and a re-run ordered within 90 days.

Ahead of the delivery of judgement, significant security measures were put in place at respective areas of the state to forestall the breakdown of law and order.
