Former Nigeria’s Senate Minority Leader has described Women as impact makers, Builders of homes, the society and Nation at large.

The distinguished Senator called for opportunities and platforms to be provided for Women to showcase their potentials in order to make Nigeria and the World a better place.

He made these known as the 2024 International Womens Day is being commemorated globally today 8th March, 2024 that is being set aside to celebrate Women and appreciate their remarkable breakthroughs and positive contributions to peace and nation building.
According to him, the day is meant to mark and celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and raise awareness about women’s equality and accelerate gender parity.

Senator Mwadkwon said the theme for the 2024 International Women’s Day celebration ‘Invest in women: Accelerate progress” is apt and harped on the need for the capacity of women to be built so that they can achieve their full potentials at appreciable levels considering their multidimensional talents, gifts and competencies they have been demonstrating over the Years at all levels.

He said “Women need to be supported and given the needed push so that they can contribute their quota in all professions and the governance process at all levels. It is therefore imperative to give greater attention to Women to achieve societal progress and prosperity. Their immense contributions to Nation building and the growth of the society cannot be overemphasized”

He called on government at all levels, Institutions, nongovernmental Organisations and well spirited not to discriminate against Women but provide them the platforms to express their gifts and talents for the common good of mankind.

He wished them the very best of the 2024 celebration and promised to continue to accord them the needed support.
