Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has said that despite the affirmation of his election by a tribunal, he will not rest until he reclaims the mandate he said was stolen by his predecessor, Jonah Jang, who is now the Senator of the Plateau North senatorial district.

“Despite that tribunal has affirmed my victory, I will not go to sleep until we reclaim our mandate that was stolen by PDP at the Plateau northern senatorial district; because I believe we won the elections,” the governor said Wednesday.

The governor stated this while addressing party supporters on Wednesday at the government house in Jos.

The election petition tribunal, on Monday, upheld Mr. Jang’s election at the April 2015 elections.

The governor told Plateau people not to expect miracles from his administration, but that he would do his best to develop the state.

“I want to tell you people that not many people will be appointed to work in this administration. But I assure you, all citizens must feel the impact of my administration; ours is an all inclusive government.”

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Jonah Jang, in March, won the Plateau North senatoria elections, defeating the All Progressives candidate, Eunice Sambo.

Recently, the National Assembly tribunal ruled that Jonah Jang was the substantive senator of the senatorial zone, but the All Progressives Congress has filed an appeal, challenging the decision of the tribunal.
