Tribunal/Appeal Court Conflicting Judgments: Group Urges PDP Stakeholders to Act Fast

A pro-Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), support group, has called on critical stakeholders in the party to genuinely act on the splits of tribunal and court of appeal judgements, dislodging their elected Representatives from offices.

The group under the aegis of Concerned PDP Muslim Youths Council , in Plateau State, in a signed statement by its President, Hon. Kabiru Sani Garkuwa, said it became imperative for them to call on the attention of their leaders to see reasons to act.

“We are law abiding citizens of our country, we are equally peace loving group and individuals, but we are left in the dark when in some cases elsewhere, different judgement is given on issues similar to ours in Plateau, but when it comes to Plateau State the verdict is entered completely conflicting that one would wonder if Plateau State is not in Nigeria” he said.

According to the group, “the issue of party structure is squarely, an internal affairs, but at some instances the trial tribunal upheld the election of our members, at another contradictory judgements the tribunal sacked them.

“We are worried and concerned that even at the Appeal Court, our members are dislodged, just for problems that only bothers us, whereas non of our members have challenged the issue of structure or nomination of our candidates at election times,” it said.

The group called on the PDP National Secretariat to see reasons to seek redress through the National Judicial Council.

“The PDP Governors Forum, should quickly act, beyond just press conference and statements, they join forces with the national executive of the party to legally seek redress from the lawful angle of our country,” the group urged.
