PRESS STATEMENT ON THE NEED OF PLATEAU STATE GOVERNMENT TO TREAT MUSLIMS IN THE STATE AS CITIZENS*

May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon you.
The above subject matter refers to;

We at the CONCERNED PDP MUSLIM YOUTH COUNCIL, PLATEAU STATE are worried about the recent political development in the state where some people are hiding under religion to achieve their selfish personal political interest by creating unnecessary tension across the state.

Prior to now, we ignored several press releases because we knew they were the hand-work of people with devilish, myopic,c and biased minds who wanted to get to power by all means having been rejected by plateau people at the polls.

However, the press release with the above caption in the name of our respected Islamic body JNI is worrisome and calls for clarification, hence, as Muslims we cannot sit and see some people using JNI for their selfish interest especially those who are given positions of responsibility by JNI but are using same for the benefit of his/their classmate and close friend the APC candidate in the last Gubernatorial election that defeated convincingly by our leader and Governor His excellency Barr Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.

This is a leader that has been leading without bias since he assumed office as his doors remain open to all Muslims and none Muslims alike.

We are worried as to why people to whom JNI has given responsibility and/or their paymasters will choose to use JNI as a platform for their political interest.

It is on record that, there is never a time that any JNI Official calls us as PDP Muslims to know our problems before going to press.

It is also on record that throughout covid 19, we were never remembered by the then APC Administration, and nobody making noise today made any submission on our behalf, was there any time that we as Muslims in PDP asked anybody to Speak on our behalf?

What we expect from the statement is for them to appreciate the rapid development we are witnessing in Plateau State including the Road constructions at Mango Street, Masallacin Juma’ah, Rikkos, and many other areas that were neglected throughout the eight years of Lalong as the Governor despite the Huge votes given to him by the ummah which was never appreciated.

The appointment of our own as Commissioner for Youth and Sports by the Time is now administration, the support given during Eid El-Kabir and Eid-maulud within the short period of his assumption in the office is Worthy of appreciation.

Furthermore, and to set the records straight, throughout the eight years of former Governor Lalong, Muslims were denied use of Rwang Pam Township stadium for Maulid, we knew there was even a time the Maulid Committee paid for the stadium but the money was refunded after printing invitation cards with stadium as the venue but were forced to use the premises of Jos Central Mosque inspired of the huge crowd.

Now, here comes a Governor with an all-inclusive policy, he not only approved the use of the stadium for free for the Muslim Ummah during Maulud but also sent a high-powered Delegation with a huge donation.

We expect the above Press release to capture this effort of Governor Caleb Mutfwang or is it because it was the Dariqa that celebrated the Maulud?

It is a well-known fact that Dariqah are the largest Islamic group in Plateau State and Nigeria as a whole but, they don’t involve themselves in partisan politics yet at the arranged press release earlier issued by the spoke person of Generation Next Failed Campaign Council Shittu Bamaiyi, he cast aspersion on the Dariqa leaders.

Despite the above, an official of JNI, a Classmate and close friend of Nentawe sees no reason to respond to Shittu’s insults, and to wrap it up, another game by the APC agent in JNI was the Press release issued by Muhammad Sani Mudi in respond to the Failed Generation Next insult on Islamic leaders but deliberately ignored the Tijjaniya Spiritual leader Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi and Tijjaniya Khalifa the 14th Emir of Kano Sir Muhammad Sanusi ||, which has become evident that there is a grand conspiracy against some Islamic groups by the APC Failed Generation Next Campaign team.

To *buttress our points SHITU BAMAIYI RELEASED HIS STATEMENT ON FRIDAY 3RD NOVEMBER,2023, SANI MUDI ON SATURDAY MORNING 4TH NOVEMBER,2022 WHILE THE Secretary of JNI CAME WITH HIS OWN IN THE AFTERNOON SAME SATURDAY. Even a blind man can see the work of these people.

The question is, where were they when Lalong was asked to nominate ten people from Plateau State for possible appointment by former President Muhammadu Buhari but he nominated only one Muslim Haj. Fati Kyari who up to now her appointment has not been given, what did they say?

Where were they when Lalong for the first time denied Muslims the Deputy Chairmanship slot of Quan’pan or amongst the Muslims, do we have first class and second class that you chose to support as an umbrella body?

Where were they when some State executives and members of the JNI fought a Muslim-endorsed candidate during the February 2022 Bassa/Jos north federal constituency bye-election just because they were doing the bidding of their paymaster?

It could be recalled that JNI leaders were seen openly campaigning for Abey, the then APC candidate for the said election.

It is on record how DARIQAH adherents were attacked at Rukuba Road on their way back from a visit to Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi and Lalong and APC ignored calls for autopsy up to this time what did you do, or because they are Dariqah?

Where were you when Lalong removed all Muslims occupying executive offices at the APC State Working Committee? (Exco) is that also a love for Muslims?

As a CONCERNED PDP MUSLIMS YOUTH COUNCIL, PLATEAU STATE we are calling on the leadership of the JNI in Plateau State to check the activities of some of its members who want to create avoidable division among the Muslim Ummah for their own selfish and personal interests.

We can remember vividly, our father the late Chief Imam of Jos Central Mosque Sheikh Balarabe Dawud of blessed memory, encouraged us to be in different political parties of our choice, but today after his demised some people are using religion to create tension within the Muslim Ummah believing that everyone must belong to the party of their choice contrary to the provision of 1999 constitution which provide for freedom of Association.

Allah gives power to whoever he wants and at the time he so wishes, why not face reality and move forward?

Why ask Governor Caleb Mutfwang five months in office to give you something that Lalong couldn’t give throughout his Eight-year tenure?

But in a few months, our son is a commissioner, others are SAs and more are coming insha Allah.

We, therefore, assure you that the PDP-led administration in Plateau state will not discriminate against anybody or group of persons irrespective of tribe or religion.

Just as the Governor said during his inaugural speech” I am Christian and my religion didn’t teach me to hate anybody we shall build a united and prosperous Plateau State”

On this note, we call on the Muslim Ummah within and outside Plateau to ignore the lies and character assassination of our Governor whom Allah in his infinite mercy has ordained to lead the state insha Allah for the first tenure of Four years and another second tenure of four years insha Allah.

We also call on the leadership of JNI to call for an emergency meeting with all Islamic groups to address this issue and sack any JNI member using his office for his selfish gains.
