A resident of Namu district of Qua’an Pan LGA of Plateau State, Mallam Adamu Maiyaki, has trekked to honour Plateau Governor-elect, Mr Simon Lalong.

Maiyaki, a 49 year old man embarked on the journey six days ago, and arrived Jos the state’s capital on Friday, May 15, 2015.

Speaking to journalists in Jos on his arrival after a journey of over 250km, Maiyaki said he embarked on the journey to express his delight over the change in government both at the state and the national levels.

He also called on the incoming administration to look into the plights of Nigerians as soon as it assumes office in a fortnight.

”I decided to trek because i was happy with the change of government here in our state, and at the national level as well.

”I want to also plead with the incoming government to look into sufferings of the people, especially in the aspect of health, education and security, with a view to solving them, he stressed.

The trekker who has a wife and six children, said he did not encounter any challenge during his trek, but said instead people assisted him.

As at the time of filing this report, the trekker was on his way to the residence of the governor elect.
