Jos, May 16, 2015 (NAN) No fewer than 500 residents of Rantya, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau, on Saturday benefitted from medical outreach organised by the Living Faith Church (LFC).

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the event took place at Stonebase, Bwak Community, Rantya.

The beneficiaries were given drugs, while some where referred for laboratory tests by the medical personnel.

Resident Pastor, David Arua, told NAN that the church initiated the programme because a lot of people with health challenges could not fund their treatment in hospitals.

He said that the medical outreach cum evangelism was organised by the church to ameliorate such challenges with the ultimate goal of leading beneficiaries to Christ.

“The ultimate goal is leading them to salvation of their soul, using the initial means of medication which they are used to, to meet their immediate needs.

“After this, they are invited to the church to hear the message of salvation for divine healing and having faith built into them, will now make them embrace divine living without drugs,“ he said.
Arua said that after covering Stonebase community, the programme would be extended to other areas.

Some of the beneficiaries commended the church for the outreach.

An elder of the community, Chief Steven Ogah told NAN that he received drugs for High Blood Pressure and called on other churches to emulate Living Faith Church.
Beatrice Dalyop said she was happy with the diagnosis and drugs administered her without any bill.
“I believe that being a church outreach, God has healed me,’’ she said.
Hannah Sampson said: “nobody has ever given me free drugs as part of evangelism, God will bless this church. “

Dr James Ogebe led the medical team which consisted of pharmacists and laboratory technicians. (NAN)
