In its commitment to engage, educate, enlighten, equip and empower young persons with the necessary capacities in order for them to provide solutions to the leadership question Nigeria has been battling with for decades, the Pathfinders Leadership School of Leadership has trained and graduated 130 persons in Jos, the Plateau State Capital.
The intensive training was aimed at building, incubating and equipping the younger generation with what is required to change the retrogressive leadership narratives when the opportunity is at hand.
Pastor Ishaku Chingtok, the Senior Pastor of God of the God-Life Assembly International at the graduation ceremony which held at the God-Life Assembly Auditorium on Sunday 6th June, 2021 said occupying an office alone is not leadership as it entails the ability to demonstrate sufficient thoughts and ideas to influence followers and motivate them towards attaining their destinies.
He posited that Pathfinders School of Leadership seeks to produce exceptional leaders out of Christian cultures and values and not just making Christian leaders.
He said it is imperative to start to prepare and equip people for future leadership position as everyone will eventually end up being a leader either at the home front, a group or organization.
“We cannot stand and complain about about the things that are and not make adequate preparation for days to come, as the name ‘Pathfinders’ connotes that the way seems to have been lost as such we have to find the path by building again the culture of leadership within society” he stressed.
The Program Coordinator, Mr. Alex Ladan hinted that the School of Leadership was birthed to address leadership deficit in the Country which is obvious saying Nigeria is lagging behind in terms of quality leadership.
He disclosed that the Leadership School was Eight weekends of intensive training with the focus to place on the participants the virtues of quality leadership and prepare them for the future.
He said the Facilitators were renowned persons of impeccable character and proven integrity.
Speaking on behalf of the graduating Participant, Barr. Ibrahim Gwani lauded the training and said it has taught them to make a difference wherever they may find themselves and created awareness on the importance of citizens and leaders.
He said the School has built them as leaders who should not wait for opportunities or an office before they act but to start exemplifying leadership wherever they are.
He disclosed that some participants have a group already and are visiting Schools to assist Teachers to become better in providing efficient communication in Information Technology while other groups are on medical outreaches etc.
