As part of its plan to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the citadel of learning and give back to its Alma Mater, the Gindiri Old Students Association (GOSA) has concluded arrangements to commission three projects which will be hand over to the School.
GOSA National President, Prof. Rotgak Gofwen while lauding the impact of the School on its graduands said the story of Plateau State is bound to be incomplete without the mention of Boys Secondary School Gindiri.
He disclosed that the prestigious school in 1950 laid the foundation for academic excellence and since then kept producing great personalities who are making impact Nationally and Internationally.
He said the Alumni deemed it modest and expedient to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the School which could had held last year but was disrupted by the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Prof. Gofwen hinted that they are better persons today on account of the privilege they had and training they underwent at the School saying they have story to tell and it is imperative to give back to the School.
He made the disclosures at the Press Briefing which held at GOSA National Secretariat along Yakubu Gowon Way Jos, Plateau State.
Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Gen. Jon Temlong (Rtd) who was flanked by other Members hinted that the 70th Anniversary is loaded with activities among which is the commissioning of various projects to give back to the School that moulded them academically, morally, spiritually and made them who they are today.
The retired Military Officer said the School has raised the bar and remain incomparable.
He Lauded the purposeful and visionary leadership of GOSA Executives and support accorded the Association by the Members.
He said as the Motto of the School is “for Light and Truth” they will continue to shine the light and promote truth all the time.
According to him, they will pay courtesy visits to the Gbong Gwom Jos His Majesty Da Jacob Buba CON, Executive Governor of Plateau State Rt. Hon. Simon Lalong, Miskagham Mwaghavul HRH Da Nelson Bakfur and Sum Pyem HRH Da Charles Mato Dakat as well undertake 3-day free medical outreach in the Community as part of activities for the 70th Anniversary.
He disclosed their intention to unveil New GOSA National Secretariat soon.
He said GOSA’s intention is to make Gindiri first class in terms of science, technology and engineering as well as invest in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to link the School digitally with the World.
He further stressed that the School will continue to produce persons of good standing in the World.
They paid glowing tributes to their Teachers and host Community for the impact and cordial relationship they enjoyed while in School.
The event will feature an Anniversary Lecture.
An Award Night is to hold on Thursday 4th November, 2021 at Crest Hotel Jos.
National Convention to hold on Saturday 6th November, 2021 where leaders of the Association will be elected while Dinner is to hold in the Evening same day.
Thanksgiving Service to hold at the School on Sunday 7th November, 2021.
