Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Egbe Says Nigerian Army Will Continue to Use Non-kinetic Approach to Achieve Peace

The Commander 33 Artillery Brigade Bauchi State, Brigadier General Emmanuel Egbe has restated the commitment of the Nigerian Army towards restoring peace in Bauchi State and Nigeria at large using non-kinetic approach.

He made this disclosure as Chief Host during the 2023 West African Social Activities (WASA) which held on Saturday 3rd March, 2024 at the Parade Ground of the 33 Artillery Brigade Shadawanka Barracks Bauchi State to bring an end to all activities of the Nigerian Army in that Brigade for 2023 and to usher in activities for the 2024 Year.
He said the event is aimed at celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the Nigerian Army as well as to foster “esprit de corps” among the Personnel.
He said the event also bring together Officers, Soldiers, their families, Friends, host Community and others to bond, fellowship with one another, embrace the beauty of diversity and unity which in turn he said will translate to peaceful coexistence and harmonious living.
He urged those present to use the event to carry the spirit of unity, empathy understanding beyond the event, be Ambassadors of inclusivity, respect for both the Military and civil populace and the broader community.

He said the Artillery Brigade has fully aligned itself with the command philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja which is “To Transform the Nigerian Military Army into a well-trained, equipped and highly motivated Force Towards Achieving our Constitutional responsibilities Within a Joint Environment” that centres on leadership, combat effectiveness and administration.

Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed represented by the Deputy Governor of the State, Rt. Hon. Auwal Jatau congratulated the Nigerian Army for successfully hosting the event in Bauchi State. According to him, the cultural component of the event was holistically integrated and the event would serve as a source of unity not just within the Military ranks but to the State at large.
He said it is vital for the Military personnel to socialise and the event will go a long way to consolidate the harmonious relationship within the Barracks and its immediate host Community.
He said the relationship between the Nigerian Army and the State government has been cordial as they have been partnering to restore peace in the State.
In his words “The Military has been performing its constitutional responsibilities of protecting the territorial integrity of the Nation and the internal security”. He hinted that the Nigerian Army is doing its best in counter-insurgency.
He lauded the achievements of the Commander 33 Artillery Brigade, Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Egbe since he assumed duty and went further to state that the government will continue to accord the required to support for the Military to achieve its mandate of defending the State against external aggressors and other criminal activities.

Chairman Central Planning Committee 2023 WASA celebration for 33 Artillery Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Abdulrahman Modibbo in his vote of thanks appreciated those who graced the occasion and prayed God to take everyone to their destinations safely.

The event features cultural performances from the Igbo, Sayawa, Yoruba, Zulawa, Hausa/Fulani, Tiv, Jarawa as well as drama.
There was also tug of war contest between Corps Members and Barrack Women which was won by the Barrack Women as well as another one between 33 Artillery Brigade Headquarters and the 33 Garrison which was won by the 33 Artillery Brigade Headquarters.

Highlights of the event were the presentation of awards to some deserving Army Personnel for exceptional performance, souvenirs to invited Guests and lighting of the bonfire.
