The Member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency, Hon. Simon Mwadkwon Ph.D has described the killings in Ta’age Bassa LGA and the invasion of the Medium Security Custodial Centre Jos as sad, regrettable and major setbacks to the fragile peace in Plateau State.

The Federal Lawmaker condemned the heinous and barbaric killings of innocents persons calling on government at all levels and security agencies to deploy superior strategies to curb future occurrence. He condoled with the people of the affected community and the entire State for the crime against humanity.

While frowning at the invasion of the Jos Custodial Centre, the Lawmaker lauded the gallantry displayed by the security agencies for the synergy deployed in tackling what could have been catastrophic and extremely disastrous. He commended the Custodial Officer, ASC Umar Mohammed who paid the price in the process of confronting the attackers.

He said with the deteriorating security situation in the Nation, there is need for greater efforts and commitment by government, security agencies and well meaning Nigerians to overcome the numerous challenges. He called for the arrest of the invaders.

He called for unity of purpose and genuine patriotism by all those who meant well for the Nation.

“There is need for government to demonstrate the political will and put in place the necessary measures toward nipping in the bud the monstrous insecurity bedevilling the Nation”

“Security agencies must show genuine patriotism, make concerted efforts and put all sentiments aside in carrying out their duties of securing the Nation against criminal elements”

Dr. Mwadkwon charged Nigerians to remain vigilant of their environments and report any suspicious persons to the security agencies for necessary action.
