“We are Not Going to Compromise Standard” – NCPC Boss, Bishop Adegbite

The Executive Secretary Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, Bishop Stephen Adegbite has said that the Commission under his leadership would not compromise standard and nobody would be allowed to short change Nigerians anymore as far as Christian Pilgrimage is concerned.
The NCPC boss made this disclosure on Wednesday, 6th February, 2024 during a sensitization visit to the Executive Governor of Nasarawa state, Engr Abdullahi Sule at Government House, Lafia.


He disclosed that the Commission would open bid for service providers for the 2024 Pilgrimage exercise on the 11th of February, 2024, stating that due process must be religiously followed for transparency and proper selection of bidders in line with the procurement Act of 2007.
He appealed to the No 1 Citizen of Nasarawa state for his continuous support for Christian Pilgrimage.
The NCPC boss also canvassed for support for the -not -too bouyant christians in the north who may not be able to afford to go on pilgrimage .In the words of the NCPC boss, ” we must also look at a way of supporting christians in the north so that they can be part of our pilgrimage experience”.
He hinted that the Commission plans to incorporate agriculture and skill acquisition in its pilgrimage content so that pilgrims would leverage on the Israeli expertise in these critical areas to add value to our pilgrimage programme.


The NCPC helmsman also congratulated Governor Sule and his deputy for their victory at the polls and the Supreme Court judgement which validated their election.
He averred that the mandate of the Commission is beyond pilgrimage, stating that NCPC provides a platform to unite and foster unity amongst Christians and other faiths.
He commended the Governor for his developmental strides in the state.
Speaking, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa state, Engr Abdullahi Sule who was represented by his deputy, Dr Emmanuel Akabe congratulated Bishop Adegbite on his well deserved appointment by President Bola TInubu; he described him
as a” round peg in a round hole.”
He explained that he has been following the antecedents of the NCPC boss over the years especially his selfless service in the Christendom.


He thanked Mr President for recognizing the contributions of the Executive Secretary of NCPC in national development ,thus finding him worthy of the appointment.He said he was excited to receive the NCPC boss and his team. He prayed that his tenure would be a much better tenure in the history of the Commission, stating that he was optimistic that he would take the Commission to greater heights.
He promised to give him all the support and cooperation he needs to pilot the affairs of the Commission. His words,” we are going to give you our maximum support”


He further affirmed that the current economic challenges facing the country would not last for too long. According to him,” whatever we are going through now is only transient , sometimes God allows it to see our resilience “, he said.
He called on Nigerians to continue to pray for our leaders in authority.
