The convener of “The Voice Initiative “ Condemns Barbaric Attack on Innocent Lives in Kubwat and Fungzai Villages
With deep sorrow and outrage, Pharm. Fwangshak Fwangkat (Shaks), condemns in the strongest terms the horrific and senseless attack that occurred in villages of Mangu local government area, Plateau State. The attack, allegedly perpetrated by suspected militia herders, has resulted in the tragic loss of more than 20 innocent lives, including women and children.
This heinous act of violence is an affront to humanity and a stark reminder of the urgent need to address the security challenges facing our nation. The indiscriminate targeting of unarmed civilians, especially women and children, is an abhorrent crime that must be met with swift justice.
Pharm. Shaks extends heartfelt condolences to the families and communities affected by this cowardly act of aggression. We share in their grief and stand in solidarity with them during this difficult time.
Furthermore, it is imperative that the government takes comprehensive measures to address the underlying causes of these recurring conflicts. Initiatives should be undertaken to foster dialogue, reconciliation, and peaceful coexistence among all communities in Plateau State. Only through sustained efforts to promote peace, unity, and understanding can we break the cycle of violence and ensure a safer future for all residents.
Pharm. Shaks calls on all relevant authorities, including the security agencies, to prioritize the protection of lives and property across Plateau State. It is the fundamental duty of the government to guarantee the safety and security of its citizens, and any compromise in fulfilling this obligation is unacceptable.
The memory of the innocent lives lost in these villages will forever remain etched in our hearts, reminding us of the urgent need for lasting solutions to the security challenges we face. We will continue to advocate for necessary measures that will ensure the safety and well-being of all residents of Plateau State.
May the souls of the departed find eternal rest, and may their families find solace and strength during this trying period. Together, let us work tirelessly to create a future where peace and unity flourish.
