Sen. I. D. Gyang Kick Starts Familiarization Visit to Federal Establishments in His District, Visits ITF

SENATOR I.D. GYANG UNDERTAKES TOUR OF FEDERAL ESTABLISHMENTS AND INSTITUTIONS: VISITS INDUSTRIAL TRAINING FUND (ITF), JOS.

Senator I.D. Gyang the Deputy chairman Senate committee on Defence has commenced a tour of Federal Establishments and Institutions that are domiciled in Plateau North.
The Tour started with a visit to the Industrial Training Fund National Head Office in Jos.
Senator Gyang was received on the visit by the Director General of the ITF Sir Joseph Ari and his management Team.

In his remarks, Senator I. D. Gyang stated that the essence of the visit was to familiarize himself with the ITF with a view to cultivating a constructive relationship with the host communities of Plateau North.

He stated that he intends to use his legislative capacity to enhance the attainment of the objectives and core mandate of the ITF.

Senator Gyang noted with delight the role and mandate of the ITF, that of BUILDING INSTITUTIONAL CAPACITY thereby ENHANCING PERFORMANCE through SUSTAINED TRAINING OF PERSONNEL and WORKFORCE.
THe ITF has also distinguished itself in EMPOWERING CITIZENS WITH SKILLS, VOCATION and EXPERTISE therefore addressing the vex issue of UNEMPLOYMENT as the beneficiaries become self employed and even job creators.
Senator Gyang indicated that he shall partner with the ITF to have youths of Plateau North access the training.

Senator Gyang offered to address issues that relate to the Acts establishing all Federal agencies that require enactment or amendment. A case in point was the Act establishing the College of Medical Laboratory Science Technology Jos which he sponsored in the 8th Assembly and was accented to into law by the President.
Another is the Bill establishing the Regional Center for Oral Health Research and Training Initiatives, Jos among the over 20 Bills which he sponsored during the 8th Assembly as Member of the House of Representatives.

The other critical legislative intervention that Senator Gyang promised the ITF and other Federal agencies is his desire to intervene where and when necessary in their annual budget submission and presentation to the Senate through the legislative appropriations process.

He also felt that the visit was an opportunity to encourage the ITF and other Federal establishments to improve on their corporate social responsibility in such way that the host communities in Plateau North WILL NOT ONLY SEE THEM, BUT KNOW THEM AND FEEL THEIR PRESENCE.
He assured the DG, ITF that the people of Plateau North are resolved to strengthening the prevailing peace with a view to creating a conducive environment for the day to day activities and operations of all Federal establishments and Institutions and indeed all other businesses in the Senatorial District to thrive.

In closing, Senator Gyang commended the DG for his exceptional managerial skills and relational capacity that has brought the ITF to where it is today. He also applauded the industrial harmony in the ITF which further attest to the leadership capacity of the DG and urged him to keep it up.

In his response, the DG, ITF, Sir Joseph Ari DG welcomed the Senator and his entourage on behalf of the Governing Council, management and staff of the training fund. He said he holds the Senator in high esteem considering his quality representation. He described the Senator as a personality in whom the people are pleased with and doing the State proud.

He promised to do the State and Nation proud so that the State will be meritoriously remembered.

He urged the Senator to uphold his performance which are visible.

He appreciated the hospitality and peaceful disposition of the host community and said the organization will contribute immensely to the community through its corporate social responsibility as can be seen through the Staff School and boreholes sunk by the Training Fund to address the acute water shortage in the neighborhood.

He said the Industrial Fund is focused on Technical and vocational training to uplift and empower citizens with skills thereby reducing dependence on white collar jobs.

He said ITF will collaborate with the Senator in terms of empowerment so as to deliver dividends of democracy to the people.

He concluded by saying the Training Fund is leveraging on skills development to reduce youth restiveness, prostitution and other social vices.
