Plateau to Build Truck Terminals, Neighborhood Markets, International Motor Parks in Jos

Plateau state government and GO-YE Associates International Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the building of Truck terminals, Neighborhood Markets and International Motor-parks at 3 entry points to Jos the Plateau state capital worth 500 million dollars within a duration of 30 months.

Speaking at the signing ceremony at Government House Jos on Wednesday, the Permanent secretary Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Salahu Musa through the Director of Administration Dennis Mafwalan , said the Truck terminals and Modern motor parks when built will help in preventing traffic challenges within Jos city .

According to him, the state Governor Simon Lalong knowing fully well the benefits of these legacy project, approved for the construction of these projects for benefit of the citizen of the state.

He disclosed that the state government was going to establish Police stations at the 3 terminals and construct access roads to the sites all in a bid to create conducive environment for the projects to succeed.

Speaking earlier ,the Board Chairman of the Company, Lt General Joshua Dogonyaro rtd said the signing of the MOU came after series of feasibility studies and period of consultations for almost 5 years.

According to him, these projects about to be executed by his company would see to the construction of Truck terminals, Neighborhood Markets and International Motor parks across the 3 entry points into Jos the Plateau state capital at Mr Ali, Babale and Mararaba Jama’a axis tagged Plateau unity project.

General Dogonyaro said when these projects are completed, they help in addressing the problems of unemployment in the state, traffic congestion in Jos Tin city and as well generate revenue for the state government .
He noted that he was fulfilled to be chairing the legacy Project that would benefit his people of Plateau for a very long time , stressing that these project would last for 30 months before completion.
General Dogonyaro called on the state government through the state ministry for Physical and Urban Development to ensure the Plateau unity legacy Project is completed as scheduled.
This Project is to be operated on the basis of Build- Operate and transfer as agreed in the MOU that was signed between Plateau state government and GO-YE Associates International limited.
