Rep. Mwadkwon Donates Initial N1 Million to Gashish District, B/Ladi LGA for Rebuilding Destroyed Communities

REP. SIMON MWADKWON, PH.D DONATES N1 MILLION FOR THE REBUILDING OF COMMUNITIES IN GASHISH DISTRICT, B/LADI LGA

As Gashish District of Barkin Ladi LGA, Plateau State today held the second Memorial Service over the ugly incident that occurred in the area which led to the killings of Hundreds of persons and burning of Houses on 23rd June, 2018, the Member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency, Rep. Simon Mwadkwon, Ph.D has made an initial commitment of N1 million Naira to the people of Gashish to assist them in rebuilding their communities.

The Memorial Service held at Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) LCC Nghar, Gindin Akwati Ward, Barkin Ladi LGA.

The Federal Lawmaker who was represented by Hon. Hon. Joshua Luka Rongdong (Big 7), Former Councillor Gidin/Akwati Ward encouraged the people to put their trust in God as He alone can wipe away their tears and take them out of their present predicaments.

He said the humanitarian condition of the people remain his major concern as his first motion on the floor of the 9th National Assembly was for the Federal Government to provide humanitarian intervention to the displaced persons especially redeeming the N10 billion pledge it made through the Vice President when he visited the State.

He said government core responsibility is the protection of lives and property of the citizens. He urged government at all levels to live up to that responsibility they swore to.
He admonished the people to draw closer to God and serve Him diligently as He is the Author & Perfecter of our faith. He encouraged them not to give up but remain optimistic saying their predicament is a temporal setback as brighter future lies ahead of them.
He said he will not relent in supporting the people to rebuild their communities and voicing the numerous challenges being faced by them on the floor of the National Assembly.

The Lawmaker later made a donation of N1 million Naira to assist the people of the the area as they make efforts to rebuild their destroyed communities and promised to do more with time.

Mr. Bangai Dung who spoke on behalf of the community appreciated the Lawmaker for coming to their aid. They commended his legislative engagements which they described as people focused and result-oriented. He said the Federal Constituency is blessed having Dr. Mwadkwon as its Representative at this critical time.

The congregation who couldn’t hide their joy lauded the humanitarian gesture of the Lawmaker and promised to continue to pray & support him to perform creditably well.
