The member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency today 26th May, 2018 disbursed Scholarship to 300 Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students.

The event took place at Gwol Motel Barkin Ladi LGA, Plateau State.

The event which commenced with a Constituency Briefing, saw the member speaking on the things achieved so far which includes Rural infrastructural development, educational development, security and peace, economic empowerment, jobs provided, health/social development, agricultural promotion as well pipeline projects.

He thanked the people for believing in him though not the best among the people in the Constituency and promised not to disappoint the trust reposed in him by the people.

He said God has given him the grace and capacity to achieve the projects being shown to those present.

He charged the people on peaceful coexistence and harmonious living which saying with God he is poised towards providing credible and effective representation.

He was critical while speaking on the one tenure only for Federal House of Representative from the Constituency and said his desire is to see that the person who will succeed him grow politically at the National Assembly.
He said he is ready to sacrifice to ensure people spend more than tenure(2-3) which has become a tradition that has not benefitted the Federal Constituency. I will lead the advocacy and campaign to ensure a Local Government going to the NASS once is abolished and replace with more tenures.

He thanked his wife for the supports given him and the people for the mandate that has attracted the projects he has.

Rep. ID admonished the people to embrace peace and eschew tendencies capable of provocation. He said destruction of farmlands, killings and cattle rustling must stop.
He said he is working on a critical bill to ensure IDPs are rehabilitated and reintegrated after reconstruction of their destroyed homes. He promised to complete all initiated before the end of his tenure. He also spoke on the N10 billion approved by President Buhari to Crisis States which he said Barkin Ladi and Riyom LGAs should be considered.

Speakers who spoke at the event included Hon. Amos Gombi the PDP State Deputy Chairman, former Member of Representative Barkin Ladi Federal Constituency and Aspirant of the Federal House of Representative, Dr. Simon Mwadkon, The Minority Leader Plateau State House of Assembly, Member Representing Riyom Constituency and House of Representative Aspirant, Hon. Daniel Dem, Barkin Ladi LGA PDP Chairman Hon. Philip Jwey and many others poured encomiums on Rep. I. D. Gyang for the quality representation he is providing and admonished him to continue.

During the Scholarship Disbursement, Rep. I. D. Gyang charged the beneficiaries and well wishers to remain committed to hard work and put in their best in their academic pursuits. He admonished them to live positive lives and ensure they contribute their quota to the socioeconomic development of the Federal Constituency, State and Nigeria.
He said he is happy a student he assisted to study a vital course is doing great and will continue to make students and youth his priority. Rep. I. D. Gyang received applauses/standing ovation while presenting his scorecards to the people.

Team Leader of the Scholarship Award Committee, Cmr. Friday Bako appreciated the member for the great gesture and asked him to let his door open for other greater initiatives that would impact the people positively. He said the educational development initiative remains strategic and thanked Rep. I. D. Gyang for believing in the youth.

Cmr. Friday charged the students to read hard, be serious, remain focused, demonstrate positive attitudes, live godly and responsible lives so that no Lecturer would harass them for academic marks.

He gave the breakdown of the beneficiaries as follows:

Ph. D 7 Students, Master Degree 13 beneficiaries, PGD 4 beneficiaries Law School Postgraduate with one beneficiaries and 275 Undergraduate Students.

Cmr. Joshua Wang who spoke on behalf of Comrades who Rep. I. D. Gyang has empowered in different ways thanked the member for the assistance to students while charging the beneficiaries to remain committed to issues that would contribute immensely to nation building. He said as group of Comrades, they have endorsed Rep. I. D. Gyang for his immense impact and quality representation.

NAPSS National President who is also a member of the committee appreciated the member for the kind gesture and for having interest in the youth in his people-oriented programmes.
He spoke on how Rep. I. D. Gyang has helped him and many others.

He charged the students to ensure they get their Permanent Voter’s Card to vote quality leaders in the future.

The event was well attended and had performance from Artiste from Plateau State who thrilled the audience.

Some beneficiaries who spoke at the event thanked the members for considering them for such education enhancement scheme which they described as laudable. They prayed God to keep blessing and protecting Hon. I. D. Gyang as well as replenish what he has spent on them while they promised to read hard in order to be useful to the society.

A medical student presented the painting of the portrait of Rep. I. D. Gyang which he personally did.

PDP State House of Assembly Aspirants such as Pharm. Ezekiel John Chung, Mr. Bot-Mang, Mr. Timothy Dantong as well as House of Representative Aspirants graced the occasion.

The member of Barkin Ladi Constituency, Hon. Peter Gyendeng praised the member for his giant strides, gigantic and people oriented project. He pray God to continue to bless Rep. I. D. Gyang to sustain his good works.

5). SECURITY INFRASTRUCTURE.
a). Construction of Mobile Police Rapid response and deployment Base, Tahoss, Riyom under the Federal Ministry of Interior, Peace Campaigns.

6). HEALTH & SOCIAL INFRASTRUCTURE.
a). Construction of a Health Centre at Lobiring, Ropp.
b). Construction of Town Hall at Kakpis Foron.

7). AGRICULTURE RELATED.
a).Construction of Mini Water Ponds for Irrigation Farming at Woroh.
b). Provision and distribution of Water Pumps to farmers for Irrigation Farming.
c). Provision and distribution of assorted  Fertiliser to farmers.

8). HUMANITARIAN INTERVENTION.
a). Provision of assorted Food and Relief Materials to IDPs.
b). Initiated the construction of forty (40) Two Bedroom Bungallows to resettle persons displaced by violent attacks at Jol and Rawuru in conjunction with Development Partners.

9). STUDENTS & EDUCATION SUPPORT.
a). Award of Sholarship to 290 Undergraduate and Postgraduate students in addition to several other intervention and assistance to  students in payment of school and registration fees, exam fees, etc.
b). Sponsored a Medical Doctor to undergo a specialised course abroad.
c).. Provision snd donation of assorted  Text Books to Secondary Schools.
c). Provision of 15 Desk Top Computers to enhance  computer literacy.

10). SPORTS & YOUTH DEVELOPMENT.
a). Sponsored a local talented football player invited by a foreign club.
b). Co-sponsored a Peace Football Tournament with the Special Military Task Force  codenamed Operation Safe Haven involving local teams from B/Ladi and Mangu LGs
c). Provided Track Suits and Jersey to local football teams.
d). Google Digital Skills Training For Youth Empowerment
e). Youth Employment vocational Skills Apprenticeship Scheme under the National Directorate Of Eploynent.
f). Employment generation for 55 youths in different fields and vocation.

11). EMPLOYMENT GENERATION.
a). Recruitment into the Arm Forces, Police, DSS and the Para-Military-
b). CBN,
c) Mainstream Federal Civil Service MDAs,
d) etc.

13). PEACE RALLIES AND MEDICAL OUTREACHES.
a). Conducted Constituency wide Peace Rallies along side Malaria eradication campaign.
