Rep. Bagos Mourns Late Ropvil Daciya Dapel Slain by Boko Haram

Press Release

23rd January, 2020,

The member representing Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, Rep. Dachung Musa Bagos condemns,in strong terms, the gruesome murder of a Plateau indigene, Ropvil Dachiya Dapel in Maiduguri, Borno State.

These killings which have become one too many in the recent past, calls to question, the genuineness of the federal government stated efforts in stemming the tides of Boko Haram in Nigeria.

As we continue to pray for those still held captives by these dreaded monsters, it’s my hope that our security agencies will redouble their efforts in securing the release of our own daughter, Miss Lillian Gyang, who is still in the captivity of Boko Haram, as was the case in the release of another plateau citizen, Ms Jennifer some two weeks ago.

Lilian, a 100-level student of the University of Maiduguri, who hails from Barkin Ladi Council Area of Plateau State, was on her way back to school from the Christmas and New year break, like many others, when the terrorists abducted her at a village near Maiduguri.

We will continue to pray for our beloved brothers and sisters in captivity while beckoning on the federal government to be more proactive and productive in securing the lives and properties of Nigerians. We also call on all critical stakeholders in the fight on terrorism to show better synergy, zeal and patriotism in tackling the scourge of Boko Haram in our Country.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria
