Professor Wannang Commends Rt. Hon. Yusuf Gagdi’s Visionary Leadership in University Transition

In his inaugural address on the 13/2/2026, as the first substantive Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Pankshin (FUEP), Professor Noel Nen’man Wannang, reserved special praise for Rt. Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, representing the Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency.Professor Wannang described the lawmaker as the “visioneer and architect” behind the institution’s elevation from a college to a university, acknowledging the legislative tenacity required to bring the project to fruition.

The Vice Chancellor emphasized that the transition would not have been possible without the strategic intervention of Rt. Hon. Gagdi, who sponsored the bill and pursued its presidential assent.

Prof. Wannang noted that Gagdi’s commitment to the education sector has permanently altered the academic landscape of Plateau State and the North Central region.

Again, the VC acknowledged the lawmaker’s ongoing efforts in facilitating physical projects on the campus to meet university standards.

The VC remarked that the establishment of the university serves as a lasting legacy for the youth of the constituency, providing unprecedented access to high-level teacher education.”We are standing on the shoulders of a visionary. Rt. Hon. Yusuf Gagdi didn’t just dream of a university for his people; he fought for it, and today we are the beneficiaries of that relentless pursuit of excellence,” Professor Wannang stated.
