The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN Plateau State chapter has condemned in totality the eruption of violence in some parts of Jos on the heels of the Endsars protests.
State CAN Chairman Very Reverend father Polycap Lubo in a statement in Jos condemned the perpetrators of violence at a time the state had gained much in peace building and communal cohesion.
Father Lubo express believe in the inalienable right of citizens to protest but said it is not good for anyone to use violence to counter the right of others.
He stressed that those involved can identify themselves and come forward for dialogue and understanding for a way forward.
He pleaded with the ENDSARS Protesters to step back as the Federal and Plateau state Governments have taken steps and begun the implementation of some of their demands.
The Plateau CAN Chairman acknowledge that while the issues raised by protesters are germaine, they should work with government to find long lasting solutions.
He challenge the Protesters to withdraw from the streets so as not to allow miscreants to hijack the protests.
The Plateau CAN Chairman said all Nigerians need to cooperate and collaborate to reset the Country to the path of progress and development where equity and justice reign.
