The Member representing Barikin Ladi/Ladi Federal Constituency who is also the Senator-elect for Plateau Northern Senatorial District, Dr. Simon Mwadkwon has commended the people of Riyom Local Government Area, Plateau North and the State at large for the overwhelming supports given to the Governor-elect Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang and the Candidates of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP across the State in the 18th March, 2023 Governorship/State House of Assembly Elections which led to resounding victory for the PDP in Plateau State.
The Senator-elect made this known when he led the delegation comprising of Stakeholders from Riyom Local Government Area who were on a courtesy call to the Governor-elect, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang at Jonah Jang Lodge Old Government House Rayfield Jos, Plateau State.
According to him, the Governor-elect has demonstrated capacity, competence and character hence the massive supports he garnered across the State which translated to his resounding victory.
He appreciated the Governor-elect for the choice of the Deputy Governor-elect, Ngo Josephine Piyo who he described as a humble, loyal and great mother.
He charged them to be committed to transforming Plateau State, take it to enviable height and not disappoint the confidence reposed in them.
“The celebrations and jubilations across the State after your declaration as Winner of the Governorship election is an attestation of your wide acceptability by the people across ethnic, religious and political affiliations” he said.
He assured them of the unalloyed loyalty and support of the people of Riyom LGA.
In his response, the Governor-elect who was flanked by the Deputy Governor-elect appreciated the delegation for the solidarity visit and for the electoral support which culminated to his victory.
He said the choice of Ngo Josephine Piyo as his running mate was divine and no person should take the glory.
He assured the delegation that they will not disappoint the mandate given them by the people but justify same by providing the much needed good governance which will be birthed by sound and responsive leadership that will meet the yearnings and aspiration of the citizens of the State.
“The hopes of the people are high and we will do our best not to let them down” he said.
