Plateau: Turning Agric, Mining, Tourism Value Chains to Multibillion Naira, Key for Financial Sustenance – Wadak

The immediate past Chairman of Chartered Institute of Taxation in Nigeria, Plateau State Chapter Mr. Isaac Wadak has said the new administration of Barr. Caleb Mutfwang must be delibrate in formulating sustainable policies across agriculture, Mining and Tourism to create wealth, jobs and boost revenue generation in the State.

He said the three sectors are key areas that when adequately explored into a multibillion naira empire will changed the fortune of Plateau State financially beyond oil and the long wait for Federal allocation at all time.

Wadak made this submission in an exclusive interview with DAILY ASSET at weekend in Jos the Plateau State Capital on Financial windows for the new administration to leveraged on towards meeting the expectations of citizens of Plateau State.

Speaking further, the Financial Expert posited, “Our priority areas should be where we have our competency and comparative advantage. We need to develop a delibrate and sustainable policies on agriculture, Mining and Tourism.

“These are areas of comparative advantage we must leveraged on their value chains to create wealth, jobs and the needed revenue to improved on our taxes as a state.”

He said the three sectors have not been adequately expanded to create the needed impact on taxation in the last eight years of the Lalong led administration. “I want to see a situation where by, in all these areas of competency that we have. We should developed the value chain into a multi-billion naira empire.

“That way, you generates your taxes from there; because wealth and jobs have been created on each of the value chains,” he suggested.

The Retired Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance in the State congratulated the Governor-Elect and his Deputy as well as citizens of Plateau State for defending their mandates. “I want to congratulate the Governor-Elect and his Deputy, I also want to congratulate citizens of Plateau State for their resilience because they stood their ground in defense of their mandates that culminated into victory.

“The victory is not a surprise because if you look at where citizens of Plateau State are coming from. The eight years of misery of course led to the jubilation you see across the State.

“There is a huge expectations from citizens of Plateau State on the new government. The Governor-Elect has acknowledge these expectations and has assured citizens of Plateau State that he will not disappoint them which I equally believe he will not disappoint citizens of the State.”
