The leadership and entire members of North Central Youth leaders has found it necessary to issue out this all important statement in respect to the allegations meted on the revered Maj. Gen. AE ABUBAKAR, the immediate past GOC 3rd armoured division and Commander, Operation Safe Haven.
Some days ago, the social media was floated with a video made by a self acclaimed army personnel full of malicious and false allegations aimed at just tarnishing the hard earned reputation of Maj. Gen. Abubakar.
It is important to note that;
1: Maj. Gen. AE ABUBAKAR remains one of the best GOCs/Commander, Operation Safe Haven. This is because of his proactiveness to security issues across the state. This explains why the people of Plateau State felt sad when he was transfered to Maiduguri.
2: Maj. Gen. AE ABUBAKAR is a man of proven integrity, dedication and deep commitment to service and cannot stoop so low to compromise for whatever reason. All of these are evident in his track records of service.
3: The Army personnel who made the allegations for mischievous reasons, refused to identify himself and this raise a lot of questions as to the authenticity and legitimacy of the said officer. Therefore, we call on the Nigerian Army to thoroughly investigate the matter to ascertain the authenticity of the self acclaimed officer.
4: As Youth leaders in the North Central Region of Nigeria, we call on the general public to disregard these allegations in its entirety as Maj. Gen. AE ABUBAKAR remains committed to serving Nigeria.
5: Under Maj. Gen. AE ABUBAKAR, Operation Safe Haven initiated and completed impactful projects across Plateau State raging from Hospitals, Schools, Boreholes and several others. These projects were carried out without any form of sentiment.
6: As one who understand the importance of sports in fostering unity, Maj. Gen. Abubakar organized several competitions for all the local Government of Plateau state and other sister states.
7: Maj. Gen. AE ABUBAKAR while serving as the GOC was highly committed to the welfare of his men and we find it truly insulting to allege that officers were used as laborers.
8: Plateau people remain highly indebted and thankful to Maj. Gen. AE ABUBAKAR and we urge the general public to disregard the unsubstantiated allegations which are only aimed at tarnishing the image of Maj. Gen. Abubakar
9: As Youth leaders across the North Central zone, we wholeheartedly thank Maj. Gen. AE ABUBAKAR for his outstanding performance in Plateau state and we urge everyone to kindly disregard the baseless allegations.
