The Plateau State Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Nentawe Yilwatda has on Thursday received blessings from the Bassa Local Government Traditional Rulers ahead of the 2023 general elections

The traditional rulers prayed for Yilwatda in their respective chiefdoms when he visited them to seek their royal blessings to hold town hall meeting with key stakeholders ahead of 2023 elections.

The Bra Irigwe, Rev Ronku Aka commended the governorship candidate for making out time to visit his palace.

Aka said that traditional rulers were not partisan but like a popular saying goes, everyone is a political animal.

“When the election is conducted may God favour you. I believe deep within me that God is with you and will grant you victory.

“When you win, do your best to restore lasting Peace in Plateau and Irigwe land because peace is what all of us are craving for.

“Needless to tell you that we have the challenge of road linking communities and the ANAN University Kwall,” he said.

The Ogbomo of Pengana, Chief Esau Mamman prayed God to bless and protect Yilwatda where he goes.

“I don’t have much to say but to pray for you because when we pray, and God will hear us.

“Wherever you go, God will be with you and grant you peace.

“For starting your town hall meeting in Pengana that is a model of peace, God will grant you victory to restore enduring peace in all parts of the state,” he said.

Utu Ugo Rukuba, represented by Kakkek Adamu Igmala like his colleagues pray God to be with the candidate as he solicits the people’s vote.

Igmala told his host that Rukuba land was confronted with a lot of challenges, with the most pressing one being the deplorable road linking the chiefdom.

The monarch appealed to the candidate to rehabilitate the deplorable road.

Yilwatda told the monarchs that the town hall meeting was to engage the citizens to tell them what he intends to do if elected and to interact with them to know their needs.

He assured the people that he would incorporate their needs and concerns in his campaign promises and execute them when elected.

The governorship candidate said that apart from security and poverty reduction, he would prioritize the unity of Plateau.
