The Mupun nation has paid a sympathy visit to the Mwaghavul Nation to commiserate with them over the collosal loss of lives occasioned by the dastardly act of brutality meted it by the fulani marauders some weeks ago. The Mupun nation in a condolence visit to the Mishkaham Mwaghavul Da Chief John Putmang Hirse on Friday 2nd June, 2023, lamented over what bedeviled the land and calls on the Mwaghavul Nation to continue to seek the face of God in its quest to end the carnage experienced some weeks ago. While at the visit, the Puun Mupun of Jos Rev. Prof Justine Lanibet’le urged all to be wise as a serpent and gentle as a dove. He also urged everyone to be at alert all the time as the marauders have not rested in their evil plans to scuttle the peace being witnessed as a result of the hospitality of the Plateau man. He however calls on the Mwaghavul Nation to leave vengeance to God as He alone will visit the enemy with His wrath. The Mishkom Mupun Da Yusuf Walle Fwangbring, on his part appreciated greatly the cordial relationship existing between the Mupun and Mwaghavul man and expressed his heartfelt grief on behalf of the Mupun nation over what befell their brothers and sisters (Mwaghavul)and prayed God to heal the land completely from any further blood shed. The National President of the Mupun Cultural and Development Association (MUCDA) Mr Alpha John Dakwak lamented that what happened to the Mwaghavul Nation is a direct loss to the Mupun nation as these two ethnic nationalities are inseparable twins. The visit witnessed the presentation of a condolence letter as well as an undisclosed amount of money to provide some succor to the injured and the displaced. In his appreciation, The Mishkaham Mwaghavul Da Chief John Putmang Hirse expressed great gratitude to the Mupun nation for this show of brotherhood and encouraged that such a relationship continues in order to put the enemy to shame. He calls for continuous unity by all the ethnic nationalities in Plateau state in order to end the invasion by enemies of peace. He lamented that the hospitable and accommodating nature of the Plateau man has always been abused by those who do not mean well for the state hence the need for all to unite(devoid of ethnic difference) and protect its heritage. Present at the visit were the District heads of Jing, Kagu, Jiblik and Dyis, the National President of Mwaghavul Development Association Mr Joseph Gwankat, Chief Garba Pwul, Col Samuel Fwangje, Chief Ardiyel Pedro Dafur, Hon Lekyes Kwarkas, MUCDA EXCO, other Puun Mupun of the different Mupun Districts in Jos and Mangu and many other Mupun sons and daughters.
