Mangu Local Government Council Exempts Students Writing NECO from 24-Hour Curfew

The Interim Chairman of Mangu LGC, Hon. Markus Artu has said students writing the National Examination Council (NECO) exams are exempted from the 24-hour curfew imposedby the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang following the attacks that led to the killing of 12 persons by armed gunmen in Sabon Gari Community of the Local Government Area.

He said “in view of the above, and after due consultation with the state Government under the able leadership of our leader the Executive Governor of Plateau State Barr. Caleb Mutfwang and other Critical stakeholders, I wish to announce that all students who are currently writing the National Examinations Council (NECO) Exam, are therefore, exempted from the Curfew, this is to enable them complete the examination which was already scheduled before the unfortunate incident.

“In addition, I wish to advise all students currently writing the examination to ensure they move around with their identity Card or any form of identification as Security agencies have been directed to ensure total enforcement of the curfew.

“While I sympathize with all those who lost their loved ones during the attacks, I wish to appeal to all Citizens to remain calm, Peaceful and cooperate with the security operatives as government is doing everything possible to restore peace and normalcy in our dear council area Mangu and the entire State” he said.
