The Management Committee chairman of Jos North Local Government Council, Hon. Shehu Usman says the closure of the Farin Gada Vegetables market by Governor simon Lalong is in the interest of citizens.

Hon. Usman stated this while inspecting the level of ongoing work at the Farin Gada in Jos North , which is one of the biggest markets in Plateau State.

It will be recalled that in order to curtail the spread of COVID 19 in the state, Governor Simon Lalong had ordered the immediate closure of the market due to non compliance to COVID 19 protocol there.

While inspecting the market, the Management Committee Chairman of Jos North Hon. Shehu Usman said that all the steps taken by the Lalong Administrations is aimed at protecting the people , one of which is the temporary closure of the market, adding that government is fully aware of challenges traders are passing through and urged them to be law abiding at all times.

Hon. Usman commended the traders Association for understanding and obeying government directives and assured them that as soon as they are ready to adhere to the Covid 19 protocols, the market would be opened for business activities.

The Chairman then inspected dome of the Covid 19 protocol facilities put in place by the Association of the vegetables market and commended them of keying in into the established protocols which according to him are bold steps of maintaining good hygiene there.

Earlier, Plateau State General secretary, Traders and Marketers, Association Sambo Adamu appreciated the chairman for personally undertaken to inspect the level of efforts put in place in the market to meet designed government protocols

Adamu said the Association will continue to support government policies and Programmes for the interest of citizen.
