After two decades of raping and induced sex with girls, as young as seven years old, this 62 years old man who lives in Zaria, Kaduna state, said he had lost count of his victims.

“I’v been having an sexual relationship with minors, some as young as seven-year, since when I was 40 years old,” said 62 years old Husseini Abdu, popularly known as Dandaura.

“I have lost count of the number girls I have had sex with because it has taken a longe time,” he said.

The man who claims to be a bricklayer and a part-time spiritualist said he has a large family comprising ten children and seven grandkids.

He said he chose the lowly path of paedophilia not for any occultic benefits but for the sake of satisfying his wild libido – a phenomenon he blamed on the Devil.

Although in situations like this, the ‘Devil’ is usually not around to deny such criminal allegations, the captured paedophile said he regrets all his actions. And that he is ready to turn a new leaf should he be pardoned.

The old man whose face didn’t bear any sign of repentance or regrets said he sometimes used to have a session with more than two girls at a time.

Mr Dandaura’s confession underscored the magnitude of unchecked sexual violence going on in northern Nigeria.

In most of Northern Nigeria, poverty and illiteracy usually limit the capacity of parents to give proper upbringing for their wards and kids.

The underaged kids are thrown to the streets under the abused facade of Almajirci. The girls are forced to the streets to hawk wares even before they clock the age of ten.

A girl of about ten years, putting on ridiculous makeup and intensely painted lips hawking fried or cooked groundnuts not worth N300 is a common sight in northern Nigeria.

Underaged girls forced into the labour market, usually patronize mechanic workshops, motor parks, markets and construction sights.

As they set out every day to hawk their wares for their parents, the girls have specific customers they have in mind to patronize them. Most often, they usually have a man whom they jokingly accept as their boyfriend (Saurayi). If they are not lucky, as they are generally not, these Sairayis could buy off their entire wares and ask them to spend time with them either in their houses or in some low priced brothels. There, they are raped on and on.

Sadly, their parents, mostly impoverished, won’t ask questions as long as they return home with empty trays and cash notes folded in their palms.

Veteran Pedophile, Dandaura, may have also been using similar evil tactics to have his way with the different little girls he defiled for over 22 years.

His last victims (survivors) were three little girls all with a range of seven years.

He was caught pants down while making out with them. A group of youth vigilante in Zaria ended his 22 years of secret affairs with little girls when they arrested him recently.

Mr Dandaura, an average Oldman with scarce grey moustache and beards on his wrinkling face, was seen in the video fielding question from those who arrested him.

“My name is Husseini Abdu, popularly known as Dandaura. I am arrested and brought here because of those three girls of about ages 7, with whom I have been having sexual relations.

“I regret my actions. I am a family man with ten children and seven grandkids.

“I know I won’t be happy if someone does the same to my children. Should I be prosecuted, I know I deserve to be punished, but I beg to be pardoned.

“I am a brick moulder and also a marabout. People use to come to me for some spiritual assistance – you can say I am spiritualist.

“I engaged in paedophilia, not for any ulterior esoteric intention other than sexual drive spurred by Satan.
Agreed I have destroyed the lives of these girls and have cheated their parents, but I still beg for forgiveness.

I call on my family to forgive my shameful act should they get to find out.

“I am 62 years old, and this was not the first time I had had sex with minors. Honestly, I cannot say or recall the number of little girls I have had a sexual relationship. I’ve been doing it since when I was about 40 years old. I promise never to do it again.

A group of Youth Vigilante arrested the paedophile at Tudun Jukun suburb or Zaria, led by one Danladi Leader, who shared this video in social media.

Mr Danladi is also the Public Relations Officer of the School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) in Tudun Jukun where the three little girls the 62 years old rapist attend.

Mr Danladi who confirmed this development, said the arrested paedophile would be prosecuted.

Only God knows the number of women, housewives and mothers of today who were survivors of Dandaura’s unrestrained paedophilia in the past two decades.

In advanced climes, the 62 years old rapist may be facing a class action court seeing his video trending in the social media. It is expected that those whom he had defiled some 20, 15 or 10 years ago, may have been encouraged to come out and accuse him of abusing them when they were kids.

Sadly, society places a premium on the morality and dignity of the female. It is considered a shame for a woman to cry out that someone had raped her.

Nigeria has an estimated population of 200 million people, with about 43 per cent of the mass of people being children under the age 0 of 14. That percentage represents 86 million children. A recent study shows that 1 in every four children is abused sexually in Nigeria. The figure translates 21 million children of the age of 0 and 14 have either been raped or subjected to other forms of sexual abuse.
