As part of community leadership and democratic norms and traditions,the Irigwe Development Association (IDA) worldwide today (7/1/2021) elected new set of officials to steer the affairs of the organization for the next three years.

The election which was conducted via an affirmation process in line with the association’s constitution saw delegates from different parts of the globe conglomerated at the famous Fertilizer Store Miango to tow this constitutional path.

The electoral committee chairman, Mr. Habila Kondoro welcomed delegates and everyone for the turnout which is a signal that Rigwe nation is on the verge of experiencing another beautiful turnaround. He thereafter directed the secretary to roll out names of contestants and portfolios.

The Electoral Committee Secretary, Mr Sunday Inusa in line with the directive of the chairman called out the names of contestants and their portfolios and each contestant stood up to the examination of the delegates.

During the affirmation,the chairman called each contestant with the portfolio vying for and asked the delegates if they have an objection but none was recorded so, he used the power vested on him and declared all of them winners.

The president elect, Prince Robert Rigye Ashi in his brief remarks thanked all for the confidence reposed on them and promised to do their best and ensure that Rigwe Nation is risen to a level beyond boundaries.
“Before today,God knows that something of this nature will happened and so I thank Him so much. My strength cannot yield but by commitment and your support we will build the Rigwe Nation of our dreams”-He reiterated.

The ELCOM Secretary while giving the vote of thanks on behalf of other members, appreciated the outgoing executives and congressmen for the opportunity and support given to them throughout the short period they served as electoral umpire of the great association,encouraged the newly executive to pay deaf ears to those who will always want to demoralize them in the course of discharging their duties and also charged them to convert every criticism to an opportunity to develop the nation.

In their separate reactions, delegates and other prominent members unanimously congratulated and admonished the newly affirmed officials to lead the association to the next height of development and also charged them to ensure that Rigwe nation is first as unity of the land is paramount.

The abridged affirmation came to a close with well wishers extending pleasantries with the newly affirmed officials.
