HRH High Chief (Dr) Selky Kile Torughedi, the Eyewei the 5th of Azuzuama has called on Nigerdeltans and indeed all Nigerians to embrace peace as a means in settling disputes. HRH Dr Selky made this known on Tuesday night while interacting with journalists and selected youths on the Occasion of the 2021 International Peace Day.

While commenting on this year’s theme “Recovering Better for an Equitable & Sustainable World”, HRH Dr Selky stressed that the only guarantee for recovery is when peace is given a chance. He reiterated that no nation or society can develop in a situation of violence.

He called on all Nigerians to give peace a chance while urging government to also be seen to be fair in responding to the needs of Nigerians in order to prevent conflict.

HRH Dr Selky used the opportunity to remind the Federal Government of the promises made to Ex-Agitators as conditions for accepting amnesty, majority of which according to HRH Dr Selky were yet to be fulfilled.

HRH Dr Selky lamented the security situation across the country, stressing that security agencies appear overwhelmed, calling on Nigerians in diaspora and indeed all well meaning Nigerians to reach out to the international community in order to salvage the situation, adding that current efforts seem to be yielding little results.
