Following his victory at the election tribunal and the subsequent unfortunate demise of senator GNS Pwajok, Governor Simon Lalong in a very humane gesture has ordered the suspension of all congratulatory messages in honour of the transition of late senator GNS Pwajok.

Lalong in a message to the press, signed by the Director of Press affairs Mr. Emmanuel Nanle and circulated to ViewPointNigeria, said:

“He is sincerely appreciative of all Plateau Citizens, the various Tiers and Arms of Government, as well as Government Agencies, Organisations, Traditional Institutions and Socio-Cultural Groups, who have shown solidarity and support with his administration over the recent  judgement of the Election Tribunal and Appeal Court Rulings that affirmed the victory of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the April 2015 Gubernatorial Elections. 

Speaking further, he said “Though the Messages are deeply assuring and heart warming, he wishes to kindly request and direct the suspension of these Congratulatory Messages in view of the mourning mood of the State over the sad transition of Senator Gyang Nyam Shom Pwajok”.

In conclusion, he said,he prays for God’s Comfort to members of the family and indeed all Plateau citizens over the demise of this distinguished son of Plateau”. May the Lord Almighty through the Mercy of God Grant his soul Peaceful rest in eternity”.

It would be recalled that late Senator GNS Pwajok – the flag bearer of the PDP died unexpectedly on 28th October 2015, following complications relating to a pre-existing liver condition which kept him spell bound for several years.

Burial arrangement as stipulated by the family shall be made known in the next few days.
