The Plateau State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Rufus Bature, has congratulated the newly appointed Senior Special Advisers and Honorary Special Advisers sworn in by Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, urging them to translate their appointments into tangible benefits for the people.
Bature described the appointments as an opportunity to strengthen governance and advance the collective interests of Plateau State, charging the appointees to uphold integrity, discipline, accountability and measurable performance.
In a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communication, Nehemiah Pam, the APC chairman urged the advisers to provide sound policy guidance, support effective implementation of government programmes and ensure that their contributions produce meaningful improvements in the lives of citizens.
He aligned himself with the Governor’s call for professionalism, teamwork and responsible leadership, stressing that public interest must always take precedence over personal considerations. He also urged the appointees to contribute to peace and security, healthcare, education, agriculture, infrastructure, water supply, sanitation and other critical sectors.
Turning to the 2027 general elections, Bature charged APC leaders and stakeholders to intensify grassroots mobilisation, strengthen party structures and consolidate the party’s presence across Plateau State’s 17 local government areas.
He reaffirmed the APC’s 5-over-5 objective of winning the Presidency, Governorship, Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly, calling on elected officials, political appointees, party organs and grassroots leaders to work collectively towards achieving the target.
Bature emphasised that “Operation Deliver Your Polling Unit” must remain central to the party’s mobilisation strategy, urging stakeholders to reinforce ward structures, sustain engagement with voters and ensure that every leader contributes meaningfully to the party’s electoral preparations within the law.
He noted that electoral victory would depend on effective organisation, unity of purpose, credible leadership and a demonstrated commitment to the welfare of the people.
The APC chairman further cautioned against divisive conduct, calling on party leaders and members to close ranks, maintain discipline and align their activities with the party’s collective objectives.
According to him, the 2027 electoral mission requires purposeful leadership at every level, with every ward and polling unit serving as a strategic centre for political engagement, mobilisation and accountability.
Bature congratulated the newly appointed advisers once again and wished them a successful tenure, urging them to combine effective public service with responsible engagement in advancing the development of Plateau State.
