Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has extended his warm congratulations to the former Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Alhassan Saleh Yakmut, on the joyous occasion of his 63rd birthday.
In a heartfelt message, Governor Mutfwang praised Mr. Yakmut for reaching this remarkable age, which he said is a testament to a life rich in impact and worthy of admiration. The Governor noted with delight Mr. Yakmut’s significant contributions to sports development in Nigeria and his exemplary leadership characterized by unwavering dedication, commitment, and excellence.
With 32 years of experience marked by success in administration, management, and corporate policy strategy development, the Governor noted that Mr. Yakmut has consistently demonstrated humility and kindness, coupled with exceptional leadership skills in serving Plateau State and the nation as a whole.
Governor Mutfwang commended Mr. Yakmut’s fervent passion, dedication, and tenacity in advancing sports and enhancing the welfare of athletes across the nation.
He said as a seasoned administrator who began his career as a professional volleyball player on the Plateau, Mr. Yakmut has collaborated with numerous Ministers of Sport, where he applied his professional acumen to steer and shape the course of sports development in the country.
The Governor also highlighted his significant role in national development, having served at various times as Director/Secretary to the NSCDC, Nigeria Correctional Services (NCS), and Nigeria Immigration Services (NIS) Board within the Ministry of Interior.
Governor Mutfwang encouraged the former national volleyball star to continue his legacy of extending kindness, charity, and benevolence, especially to the less fortunate in society. He urged him to utilize his vast knowledge in corporate strategy, marketing/communications, project/event management, and human resources management for the greater good of humanity.
