The Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang has urged the Plateau Elders to join hands and work towards actualizing the much needed peace and unity in the State which he said when achieved will translate to progress and development.
The Governor made this known during the inauguration of the reconstituted Plateau Elders’ Forum which held today at the Banquet Hall of the New Government House Little Rayfield Jos.
He applauded the Elders for the roles they are playing in the State calling on them not to relent in contributing to the growth and development of the State as critical Stakeholders in the Plateau project. He admonished them to provide their valuable guidance and counsel as Patriots to help in the governance process in the State.
The Governor expressed displeasure over the insecurity bedeviling the State and urged the Elders and well meaning Citizens of the State to work together to achieve a more united, peaceful and prosperous State.
He said he is working assiduously to offset the outstanding salaries and gratuities being owed civil servants/retirees in the State having paid April and May, 2023 Salaries.
Arc. Samuel Jatau, the Secretary to the Government of the State disclosed that the State Government is ready to tap from the wealth of experience of the Elders in order to achieve greater and better progress in the State.
