Dr. Patrick Dakum receives with immense shock and sadness the passing of elder statesman Senator Ignatius Longjan who passed today 10th October 2020 after a protracted illness.

Senator Longjan, who drove the agenda of southern senatorial zone in the National Assembly, was an epitome of the “Plateau spirit” and “Plateau-ness”. He exuded a rare amount of grace, compassion, loyalty and character that has come to define much of his service to humanity –firstly as a diplomat, then a deputy Governor and a Senator of the Federal Republic.

His demise comes at a difficult time for our state –when his wisdom, decorum and dexterity will be greatly cherished in finding a lasting solution to the challenges that have be-devilled Plateau.

Senator Longjan lived a simple and contented life, which is worthy of emulation and his passing leaves a massive void which cannot be filled.

As we pray for the repose of his amiable soul, we pray that Almighty God gives his immediate family, the good people of Qua’anpan LGA, the Southern Senatorial Zone and Nigeria the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
