Dr. Nalda Nanpon Fazing of the Surgery Department JUTH has emerged the President of Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) JUTH Chapter for the 2020-2021 Executives Year at the just concluded Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Professional Body.

In his acceptance speech, the new President, Dr. Nalda promised a paradigm shift in superintending the affairs of the Association.

He said the Newly elected Executives will continue to do everything humanly possible to empower the Congress to continue to decide its leadership via a democratic process devoid of nepotism, favouritism, or usurpation of the Congress’ power under any guise.
He posited that those who want to serve the association should be prepared to go through rigorous campaign and congress scrutiny of their antecedent capabilities and track records.

He said the welfare of our members within and outside JUTH shall be vigorously protected and improved upon.
Dr. Nalda urged other elected Members of the Executive to be ready to sacrifice in service of the association.

He said in fulfilment of their promises, they will soon constitute ‘the Investment/COVID-19 Palliatives committee’ with the following terms of reference:

1. Workout modalities for immediate establishment of the ARD JUTH carwash.
2. Workout modalities for building a creche.
3. Liaise with relevant government and nongovernmental agencies/ organizations at state and federal level to procure covid19 palliatives for onward distribution to members.

“Our profound gratitude to God almighty, the Lukden led EXCO for raising the bar in the service to our association and the electoral committee under the chairmanship of Dr Jepla Nankwat for conducting a free, fair, credible and transparent election for the association.”

“The ARD JUTH leadership under my stewardship in fulfilment of its corporate social responsibility will partner with the hospital management in the actualisation of the vision and mission of the hospital and those of Federal ministry of health” Dr. Nalda said.

He appreciated ARD JUTH for the confidence and trust reposed in them and promised not to disappoint same.

The opening ceremony of the AGM took place on Wednesday 16th December, 2020.
Awards were presented to deserving persons.

The AGM and Scientific Conference 2020 had as its theme “Achieving Success in leadership and management: A Nigerian Doctor Beyond the Stethoscope”

The event had Prof. C. Isichei, a Consultant Chemical Pathologist as Chairman of the occasion.

The Newly elected Executives took oath of office and handing over was done simultaneously.
