In his bid to give back to the society, encourage education at the grassroot and assist the less privileged in the Society, Dr. Dauda Gwomson popularly known as ‘Giwa’ has distributed school uniforms to pupils of Local Education Area (LEA) Kanadap Kuru District of Jos South LGA, Plateau State.
Dr. Gwomson said education of upcoming generation is critical if the world is to be a better place. He said what he is doing is to encourage the younger generation in their education.
Dr. Gwomson urged government and well meaning individuals to encourage the educational system and said he has a lot in mind for the community.
He urged the pupils to take their education seriously in order to be useful to themselves and society at large.
In attendance were the Gwom Rwey Kuru District, Da Patrick Mandung, Be Dagwoms, Elders, Clergies, Community Leaders, officials of Kuru Development Association (KUDA), BECO Kuru District, BEWDA, BYM, BYM and others who Lauded the gesture by Dr. Dauda Gwomson for investing in the education of the kids. They underscored the importance of education saying the knowledge is the currency of the World. They commended him for adding value to future leaders in the community. They said the impact of what he is doing will be felt in the future by the community, State and nation at large.
They appreciated him for being an illustrious son who they are proud of. They prayed God to open greater doors so he can do more.
The uniforms were later dedicated to God for use by the pupils.
Presentation of the uniforms was done by Gwom Rwey Kuru, HRH Da Patrick Mandung who said the gesture is timely and apt, calling on others to emulate Dr. Gwomson.
Head Teacher of the School, Da Pwajok D. Gyang appreciated Dr. Gwomson for the philanthropic and humanitarian gesture saying they will ensure the pupils use the uniforms well. He said the gesture will encourage the pupils to study well, put smiles to their faces, rekindle their hope and aspiration.
The event took place at the School premises and was well attended.
