Col. Samuel Fwanje (Rtd) Console Plateau People Over Killings, Calls for Support to the Military to Overcome Insecurity

A retired Army Officer, Col. Samuel Fwanje has expressed discontentment over the attacks, killings and destruction of farms crops in Plateau State.

The ex-Army Officer sympathized with the government of Plateau State, the affected persons, Communities and people of Plateau State over the nefarious attacks that led to the loss of many souls.

“These senseless, inhuman and barbaric killings are worrisome and highly condemnable” he posited.

He charged Nigerians to accord the necessary supports to the Nigerian Military and other security agencies to curb the security challenges confronting Nigeria.

“The Military and other security agencies need the support and cooperation of the public if the Nation must win the war against criminal elements who have vowed to destabilize the Country”

“The public must furnish the security agencies with reliable, accurate and credible intelligence information at their disposal in a timely manner to enable them curtail the activities of criminals”

He lauded the visit of the Nigerian Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Lucky Irabor for an on-the-spot assessment of the security situation in the State and the meeting with stakeholders in the State with the aim of finding lasting solutions to the violent attacks and killings in the State.

Col. Fwanje (Rtd) who is a Course mate to the Chief of Defence Staff and Member of the 34 Regular Course said having known Gen. Irabor for long he is optimistic in his capacity to achieve incremental peace in Nigeria.

He also commended the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Simon Lalong for being proactive in the face of daunting security challenges.
He admonished the citizens of the State to accord the Governor the needed support in achieving lasting peace in the State.
He charged the people to promote peace to achieve a prosperous State and Nation.

He further stressed that the merging of the 3 Division of the Nigerian Army Maxwell Khobe Cantonment and the Operation Safe Haven is a well-conceived idea and aimed at providing adequate responses in times of attacks. He said the General Officer Commanding 3 Division who doubles as the Commander Operation Safe Haven, Major Gen. Ibrahim Ali is a disciplined, well trained and professional Army Officer who will discharge his duties of restoring peace and security in the Joint Operation Area creditably well if given the required support and cooperation.

He called on the citizens to always be security conscious and report suspicious persons to the appropriate quarters for quick response.
