ORIENTATION OF FEDERAL MEDICAL COMMITTEE AND FEDERAL MEDICAL TEAM FOR 2O2O

CHRISTIAN PILGRIMAGE: NCPC BOSS CHARGES THE MEDICAL PERSONNEL TO BE AMBASSADORS OF CHRIST.

The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission Rev Yakubu Pam has charged the medical personnel for this year’s General Pilgrimage exercise to Israel, Rome and Greece to be ambassadors of Christ while discharging their duties during Pilgrimage.He disclosed this recently in Nasarawa state during the Commission,s medical orientation for the 2020 Pilgrimage exercise.

In the words of the NCPC boss,” You must bear in mind that in discharging your duties as medical professionals you are promoting the attitude of Christ himself” He added.

You must therefore work hard in love to protect our Pilgrims from COVID 19 and meet other medical needs that may come up during Pilgrimage in Israel,Rome and Greece”.
Rev Pam affirmed that the selection process for this year’s Federal Medical Team was strictly on merit.

The Chairman of the Federal Medical Committee, Dr David Atuwo said that his committee would do everything possible to provide the necessary medical care for the Pilgrims during Pilgrimage.

He commended the present leadership of Ncpc for the support and cooperation his Committee had enjoyed, especially in making the orientation programme possible in spite of the current situation facing the country.

About 69 Medical personnel comprises medical Doctors, Pharmacists ,Nurses and. Medical Laboratory Scientists from the six geo political zones were selected for this year’s December general Pilgrimage having successfully scaled through a competitive online examination conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board JAMB in conjunction with NCPC.

The theme of this year’s orientation for medical personnel is ” International Travels and Challenges of COVID19 protocol Observance: A panacea for managing the Healthcare of Pilgrims during Pilgrimage”.
