The Electoral Committee of the Berom Youth Moulders Association (BYM) has rescheduled the Districts and National Elections earlier slated for Saturday 4th December, 2021 and Saturday 11th December, 2021 respectively.

In a statement signed by the National Chairman of the 2021 BYM Visionary Elections, Cmr. Samson Makim, the District Elections will now hold on 11th December, 2021 across the various BYM Districts/Branches while the National Convention will hold on 18th December, 2021.

According to Cmr. Samson, BYM National manifesto presentation and Presidential debate will now hold on the 16th December 2021 at Gwol motel by 1pm.

Dear Members,

As you may all be aware, the 2021 National Electoral Committee of BYM emerged as a product of the National Congress held on the 11th of September 2021 at Vwei, Kuru, Jos South LGA. This followed with the Congress modification and ratification of the Elcom’s electoral guidelines on the 15th October 2021 at Diye, Zaramaganda BYM Hall. Within and after this period of time, several other resolutions have been reached between the BYM national Executive members, National ELCOM, CWC Members, Districts/Branches ELCOM Chairmen and Secretaries amongst others – all in a bid to deliver a free, fair and credible election for us as Berom Youth.

Again, during this period, we have had to grapple with quite a number of daunting challenges. One of these is a purported press release by the BYM President on the 1st DEC 2021 disbanding the entire EL-COM and unilaterally setting aside the electoral process. Having carefully studied the situation and with the clarification from the BYM Legal Adviser, and in furtherance with the resolutions of a joint meeting of the National ELCOM with the national aspirants in the BYM election 2021, the National ELCOM wish to update all BYM members as fellows:

1. The BYM Districts/Branches elections shall now hold on 11th December 2021 across all Districts and Branches.
2. The BYM national election shall hold on the 18th December 2021.
3. BYM national manifesto presentation and Presidential debate holds on the 16th December 2021 at Gwol motel by 1pm.

This adjustment became necessary due to some unforeseen hitches and challenges beyond our control. We regret any inconveniences this may have caused us all.

We still want to use this time and avenue to assure all members that the national ELCOM is resolute and more determined to deliver a free, fair and credible elections. We therefore call for cooperation from all and sundry to achieve this. Thank you all and God bless.
