“This, amongst many, has characterized increase in criminal activities in the State which has recently become a thing of grieved concern to all residents in the State”

“More worrisome is that residents now living in perpetual fear of the unknown, while innocent people have been forced to part with huge sums of money as ransom to secure the release of their love ones in the midst of the present economic hardship”

“These have become pointers to a need for the vigilante, Hunters, the Police and other sister-agencies to comb mountains, hills and valleys and surrounding areas to ensure criminals are mobbed out of the Plateau and it’s environs otherwise resources will continue to be drained by the kidnappers and their cohorts since the outlawed activities have become a lucrative business” he said.

He further stressed the need to dislodge land grabbers from those villages, communities and bushes under forceful occupation in order to curb down acts of criminality for safety of citizens in the States to be guaranteed.

He said “In view of the avoidable tragedy, we call on government to, as a matter of urgency, have an interface with relevant stakeholders so as to come up with ways of addressing the pending matter since lands that have been grabbed appear to be harbouring dens for kidnappers and other terror elements”

“This would go a long way in addressing the insecurity bedevilling the State and by extension, the country at large”

“It is worthy of note that no fewer than 102 communities and villages have been forcibly taken over by fulani herdsmen as result of attacks and crisis which has engulfed communities in Barkin Ladi, Riyom and Jos South LGAs”
