Berom Community in Abuja (BECA) Holds Wusal Berom Abuja 2017

The Berom Community in Abuja (BECA) held its 2017 Annual Service known as Wusal Berom.

The theme of this year’s Service was “wot niri vok e yene mo” translated to English as “let us endure to the end” taken from Matthew 24:13.

The event which held at National Christian Centre Abuja on Sunday 19th November, 2017 was said to be colourful and witnessed huge turnout by illustrious Berom sons and daughters within/outside Abuja and in the diaspora. Those who attended were well dressed in their traditional attires.

The Host and Chairman of BECA, Da Engr. Markus C. Dye in his welcoming address thanked all those present and charged the Berom Nation to be more united, speak with one voice and get closer to God to overcome the daunting challenges confronting them.

He called on the Berom Nation to be prayerful and vigilant as they are now vulnerable, volatile and their villages deathtraps. He cautioned the people against keeping late nights as their attackers now carryout isolated ambush to kill.

Da Markus said these are trying and persecuting moments to the Berom Nation but he is sure the Berom will emerge stronger and more united.

He called on the security operatives to be more proactive and professional in their engagements and ensure attackers are arrested so that justice will take it course on them.

Also in his speech, Da Markus called on government at all levels to demonstrate sufficient will and capacities toward curtailing the attacks in Berom villages and other parts of Plateau State.

He called on the government, NGOs, international organizations and well-spirited individuals to come to the aid of the people with relief materials, reconstruction, rehabilitation of the people as well as ensuring their lands forcefully and illegally taken over are retrieved and given back to the natives.

Guest Speaker at the event was Da Apostle Chris Bature and the Chief Host was the Gbong Gwom Jos, His Royal Majesty Da Jacob Gyang Buba.

Special prayers was made to the Berom Nation, Plateau State and Nigeria.

The event climaxed with cultural display and the eating/drinking of local cuisine.
