The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) has concluded its 2026 promotion exercise, with 57 staff across grade levels in the headquarters and zonal offices successfully elevated.
The promotion examination was held on April 1, 2026. The exercise, approved by the Executive Secretary, Bishop Prof. Stephen Adegbite, was subsequently ratified by the Commission’s Board.
Among those promoted are two Deputy Directors who advanced to the rank of Director, and two Assistant Directors elevated to Deputy Director. New Directors include Mr. Celestine Toruka, Director of Media and Public Relations, and Mr. Benedict Okoh, Director of Mobilisation.
During a thank-you visit by the newly promoted staff on Monday, April 20, 2026, at the NCPC headquarters in Abuja, Bishop Adegbite reaffirmed his commitment to staff career progression. “People working with me must progress,” he said.
The Executive Secretary urged the beneficiaries not to be complacent after passing the promotion examination. He encouraged them to pursue professional and academic qualifications to improve themselves for the future.
While congratulating the staff, he charged them to remain diligent, loyal to superior officers, and prepared for greater responsibilities. “I will not tolerate indiscipline, but I will ensure no staff is denied their rights,” he stated.
Bishop Adegbite prayed that their promotion would bring fulfillment, that they would live to claim their retirement benefits, and ultimately “experience heaven at last.”
Earlier, the Director of Administration, Mr. Abu Okpanachi, thanked the Executive Secretary for his purposeful and inclusive leadership. He pledged the loyalty of the newly promoted staff and the entire workforce to his administration.
