An indigene of Plateau State, Panshak Joel has announced plans to embark on a symbolic trek from Jos to Abuja in honour of Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, following his re-election as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the party’s 4th elective national convention.

Panshak, a native of Pankshin Local Government Area, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday after the emergence of Professor Nentawe at the convention held in Abuja on Friday, March 27.
According to him, the journey tagged #Trek4Progress will commence on Sunday, March 29, from the Old Airport Junction in Jos, the Plateau State capital. He expressed optimism that the four-day trek will culminate in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
Describing the initiative as a demonstration of loyalty and commitment, Panshak noted that the trek goes beyond a mere physical journey.
“This is not just an ordinary trek; it is a walk of commitment and solidarity. It is in honour of the return of the APC National Chairman, celebrating his leadership and the strength of the party as one of the most populous in West Africa,” he stated.
Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, born on August 8, 1968, succeeded Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as APC National Chairman in 2025. Prior to this role, he served as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development between October 2024 and July 2025.
A distinguished Academic and Politician, Professor Nentawe was also the APC gubernatorial candidate in Plateau State during the 2023 general elections.
The planned trek has begun to attract attention, with many viewing it as a symbolic expression of grassroots support and political solidarity within the party.
