Gov. Caleb Mutfwang Declares NCPC 2023 Staff Retreat Open


The Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang has declared the NCPC Staff Retreat open. The event took place on Monday, 4th December, 2023 at Crest Hotel,Jos Plateau State.
Governor Mutfwang who was represented by his Deputy Governor, Her Excellency Josephine Piyo expressed her delight to be able to attend the NCPC 2023 General Staff retreat and also to be the one to declare the event open.
The Governor urged the staff of the Commission to work towards achieving the corporate goals of the Commission , as the retreat will give Staff the ample time and opportunity to participate and learn from one another in order to add value to the system.
He commended the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Rev Dr Yakubu Pam for successfully conducted three Staff retreat since his assumption of office in 2020, according to him, “this is evident that the Staff welfare and success of the Commission is paramount to you”.
He urged the staff to take the retreat seriously as the essence of the retreat was to instigate a paradigm shift in leadership roles in the Commission.

The Executive Secretary Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission Rev. Dr. Yakubu Pam in his remarks thanked the almighty God for another opportunity to hold a staff retreat. According to him, “this is the third in the series that is being held for the second time in the city of Jos, plateau State”
The first of its kind was held in December 2020, shortly after his assumption of office as the third substantive Executive Secretary of the Commission.
Rev. Pam expressed his delight for having his staff from the headquarters in Abuja and the six geopolitical zones all converged under one umbrella in Jos to bond and at the same time brainstorm for the importance of the Commission.
He assured the staff that this year’s retreat would be different in terms of content and form as it has been planned in such a way that every staff would be affected directly or indirectly for maximum impact.He said, ” this is evident from the theme of the retreat ; ” Leadership Transformation for Strategic Productivity”.Also, he added that topical burning issues would be discussed in the course of the retreat .
The NCPC Boss affirmed that the retreat would target key leadership areas and explore strategic principles to heighten productivity of Staff. He further explained that the retreat would afford the staff the golden opportunity to discuss burning issues as it affects the Commission and also help them to appreciate the challenges facing the Commission as an entity.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Plateau State Christian Pilgrims welfare Board, Bishop Zumbes Juan who was represented by the Executive Secretary Plateau State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Rev. Wanson Bagu applauded the Executive Secretary, Rev. Dr. Yakubu Pam for organizing a retreat such as this in the City of Jos.

He therefore called on Staff of the Commission to make themselves useful during the retreat and make sure they don’t leave without getting something to take home.
Rev.Bagu prayed for the success of the staff retreat and wished the participants a happy stay in Jos.
