Breaking News: Senator Godwills Akpabio, CON Emerges Nigeria’s New Senate President

Former Governor of Akwa Ibom State who also served and the former Minister for Niger Delta Affairs from 2019 to 2022, Senator Godswill Akpabio CON the Senator representing Akwa Ibom North-West has emerged the Senate President of the 10th Senate.

He pulled 63 Votes to defeat his opponent, Sen. Abdulaziz Yari the former Governor of Zamfara State and Senator representing Zamfara West who scored 46 Votes.

Sen. Akpabio was earlier nominated by Sen. Ali Ndume while Sen. Yari was nominated by Sen. Elisha Abbo.
