As Plateau State struggle to overcome the security challenges bedeviling it, Plateau Our Heritage (POH) has lauded the Management Committee Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council, Hon. Shehu Usman for sealing the A.Y. Shafa Filling Station situated along Dariye Motor Park along Bauchi Junction to Farin Gada Road in Jos North LGA following the killing of a Student of University of Jos at the Filling Station on Thursday 19th August, 2021.
The group said the decision is a step in the right direction calling for more proactive measures to tackle the ongoing killings in the State.
It charged other leaders to borrow a leaf from the pragmatism exhibited by Hon. Shehu Usman.
The group disclosed that it will appreciate if the perpetuators of such heinous act as well as those at the scene of the killings are apprehended and made to face the full wrath of the law to serve as deterrent.
In a statement jointly signed by the group’s Chairman, Hon. Alex Kwapnoe – fimc and Secretary, Cmr. Friday Bako, the group called on government to display the political will and be more proactive in order to nip the senseless killings in the bud.
It also admonished Security operatives to be more professional and patriotic in discharging their official duties without any form of biasness.
“As a group, we call on law abiding citizens in the State to unite against all criminal elements who are bent on creating an atmosphere of hostilities and destroying the good image of the State.”
“Our unity will bring a permanent solution to the well planned killings ongoing in the State”
“The attacks and killings are regrettable, evil and must be condemned by all right thinking citizens” the group concluded.
