Gunmen have killed a Senior Special Assistant to Benue Governor Samuel Ortom on Security, AIG Christopher Dega (Rtd) in Jos, Plateau State Capital.

The Plateau State Police Command in a statement signed by ASP Obah Ogaba, the Public Relations Officer of the command reads that
It is on a sad note that the command received an ugly report of the death of AIG Christopher Dega (Rtd).

The statement reads that “On 31/05/2021 at about 2030hrs, AIG Christopher Dega (Rtd) was shot dead by three yet to be identified gunmen in an isolated restaurant at Bukuru, Jos.

He said that from the investigation so far, it appeared that he was trailed and shot.

The statement reads that the late AIG arrived at Jos from Makurdi on the same date at about 1930hrs.

He said that some suspects have been arrested, while, the investigation is ongoing.

Our correspondent reports that AIG Dega had a brilliant career in the Nigerian Police Force and was twice Commissioner of Police in Borno and Edo States.

He hailed from Katsina Ala local government area in Benue State.
