Gov. Lalong vows to relocate IDPs to their ancestral homes before end of 2018
Vows to continue to strive to ensure lasting peace in Plateau

Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong at the weekend pledged to relocate internally displaced persons back to their ancestral home before the end of 2018.
It could be recalled that worried by the pathetic condition of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), in the State following the unfortunate killings in the state Governor Lalong had two months ago inaugurated a committee saddle with the responsibility of catering and returning displaced persons to their ancestral homes.
Lalong further said his administration is desirous and committed towards ensuring that peace is achieved permanently in the state, saying that he stands for all the tribes in the state.
Governor Lalong disclosed this on Sunday in Jos, while speaking during the Annual Reunion Church service and Thanksgiving of the Berom Nation tagged; Wusal Berom 2018 held at kuru, Jos South Local of the Plateau state.
Lalong who was represented by his Commissioner of Physical Planning and Urban Development Hon. Bulus Bot said the committee he constituted for the relocation and Resettlement of the internally displaced persons in seven iDPs camp in the state will submit its report to him on (Monday) today which the state Government which would be immediately implemented.
According to Lalong, his administration has put efforts towards ensuring permanent peace in the state.
“The Lalong administration has been able to convince the Inspector General of Police to make sure that Mobile barracks is established in Gashish which will take care of Barkin, Riyom, Bokkos and Mangu Local Government of the state, and already the federal Government has taken immediately action for the formation of a Police Mobile Barracks in the state.
Lalong disclosed that three units of the mobile Police are being trained so as to immediately moved to Gashish.
The Governor also advised all citizens of the state to ensure the verification of their names display at various Polling Units by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC and also make complaint if necessary before the 2019 elections.
Lalong said despite the perceptions about the APC administration in the state, he has appointed three Berom sons as commissioners in his cabinet including the office of the Secretary to the State Government amongst others.
“My administration will continue to do what is right without being deterred so that the people will have a sense of belonging”.
I would continue to carry all tribes along in Governance ,I would continue to unite all tribes in Plateau .
The Gbong Gwom of Jos and President of the Plateau State Traditional Council of chiefs and Emirs His Majesty Da Jacob Gyang Buba called on people of the state to continue to stay peaceful with one another .
COCIN President Rev. Dr. Dachollom Datiri while taken his Bible Reading from Romans chapter (13 verse 11-14) tasks all Christian to always seek the face of God at all times.
He urged Christians to put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light and God will answer their prayers.
Chairman of the Berom Language and Translation Board and Organizers of the Berom Reunion Service Rev. Davou Gyang said the church service for all the Berom tribes to gather together and pray to God to bless the Berom Nation.
He advised all the Berom Nation to vote for credible candidates and not party during the 2019 elections.
