It’s with a deep sense of responsibility and broken heartedness that I convey my displeasure over government’s continued conspiracy of silence amidst heinous crimes against the people of Plateau state, particularly and recently, the brutality affecting Miango, Fan, Jol, Ropp and Gashish areas of Gwol, Bassa, and Bokkos.

It beats human imagination, that a supposedly peaceful state is facing this level of hostilities at the beginning of cropping season & months to general elections and the silence from government deepens as residents lament helplessly in the hands of marauding herdsmen.

Our peasants, whose abiter for livelihood is solely agrarian in nature, can’t afford the intimidation and continuous traumatization. These crimes are definitely and already, threatening the food security of the state. These communities are well known for very remarkable contribution to our GDP through their farming activities and continuous food supply.

I therefore, appeal to government at all levels to immediately halt these crimes against humanity!

We can’t continue to build internal IDPs within our territories!

We can’t continue to allow citizens become refugees within their Homeland!

The breeding of and geometric assemblage of orphans within our communities can no longer be acceptable!

We will not accept the continuous enlistment of widows on a daily basis in our land!

Government can’t afford to reduce food production due to its inabilities to curb fulani militia men.

Our youths are the hope of the future, they are the active and productive component of the land, we can’t afford their continuous murder in the wicked hands of militia men.

The aged have a pot of wisdom, they are weak physically, their physical weakness can’t be exploited while we watch helplessly!

My dear governor, Barr Simon Lalong i take this uncontrollable but decorous medium to request you reflect and react to the impending implosion of the Land. Your timely response and intervention will do everyone good in the state. Your Excellency, just imagine your child becomes brutally fatherless, motherless or both, imagine your wife as a widow, imagine yourself as a widower and childless within a span of 24 hours, imagine how it feels your Excellency, if you are forced to live in an IDP camp endlessly, how will you feel?. Your Excellency, that’s the exact situation of our people right now, right there.

From Miango to Bokkos, from Riyom to Barkin Ladi, the story has persisted.

The narrative has got to change and must change now!
